Tony Yeaman - Vice Chairman

Tony has worked for both the Public and Private sector in the last 30 years and became a Non- executive director with the Trust in October 2006 and Vice Chair in 2010

He started off in private practice training to be a solicitor and moved, continuing his career, to British Gas being there throughout the privatisation programme. After qualifying he moved back into Solicitors private practice specialising in complex personal injury claims.

He later joined the Health Service and served as one of a team of Regional Solicitors to a large Regional Heath Authority based in Hampshire, advising on all aspects of the operation of the NHS. Following major reforms and six years service he contracted out and re-joined the private sector where for the last 12 years he has continued his specialism in Health Service related issues for two National law firms.

He has gained an MBA and served for several years as a Trustee to the Macfarlane Trust. He is noted in Chambers and Partners guide to the legal profession as a leader in his field. He is married with 4 children and lives in Solihull West Midlands.

Tony Arrowsmith

Tony has had an extensive career in business and management, primarily in advertising and marketing. He was Chief Executive of a national group of marketing service companies, and an Executive Director of the publicly quoted holding board in London, before becoming Chairman of McCann-Erickson in Birmingham.

He was an elected member of the National Council of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, and Chair of the AMAA, the body responsible for the industry’s trade union negotiations.

Tony has also had a close involvement in education, working as Chair of Governors of St Christopher’s Primary School in Codsall for 10 years, and latterly as Chair of Directors of St Dominic’s School, an independent girls’ school in Brewood Staffordshire, for five years.

He lives in Codsall Staffordshire, and is married to Yvonne. They have three children.

John Lancaster

John Lancaster is a chartered accountant who has worked both in this country and abroad. Following a brief spell in the motor industry, he joined Dairy Crest, initially in finance, before moving into general management where he was responsible for operations in the East of England before working his way up to Operations Director for their National Liquid business. In 1996 he joined British Waterways as general manager in the Midlands. He retired a decade later, in October 2006, as Managing Director.

John and his wife Mo have a home in Stratford upon Avon where they have lived for nearly twenty years. They have three grown up children and John now occupies his spare time rowing on the Avon and to celebrate his retirement successfully completed the New York Marathon to raise money for his charity P.H.A.B.

Tony Murrell

Tony Murrell, started his career in a small timber merchant’s, where he served a commercial apprenticeship before joining the Xerox Corporation in 1976. He worked his way up through the organisation to Financial Controller/Director roles in the U.S. and Europe.

Tony then had the opportunity to specialise in Supply Chain Management and was appointed as European Director, Customer Supply Chain Operations re-engineering the entire Supply Chain and Manufacturing Assembly Operations. Prior to retiring in 2005, he was appointed Director, Business Operations in 2003, centralising back office processes and systems to support a new business model.

Tony is married with no children and lives close to Ross on Wye. He plays a euphonium in a brass band and is also the band’s chairman. He has two horses and on top of this he is trying to keep reasonably fit at the local gym.

Jacynth Gillespie – Associate Non-Executive Director

The Trust appointed its first clinical non-executive director in July 2011.  Whilst there are two clinicians who are executives, this is the first time the Trust has appointed a non-executive.  Jacynth Gillespie has over 25 years of NHS experience, starting her career as a nurse, midwife, and health visitor.  She progressed throughout her career to become an executive director of clinical leadership within a Primary Care Trust and acting Director of Nursing within a Strategic Health Authority.  Jacynth has been an active member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) gaining membership to several key policy committees and representing the Region the National Council.
