Freedom Of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 recognises that, as a member of the public, you have the right to know how public services such as the NHS are organised and run, how much they cost and how you can make complaints if you need to. You have the right to know which services are being provided, the targets being set, the standards of services expected as well as the results that are achieved.

West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust publishes and responds to requests for information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. To assist you in looking for information, the Trust has produced a Guide to Information in accordance with requirements issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office.

The Trust's commitment to publish information excludes any information which can legitimately be withheld under the exemptions set out in the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This means that sometimes not all of the material can be made available for publication or the material that is, may be edited. For example, the type of Information that may be exempt is that which falls under the Data Protection Act 1998.

This website is designed to give as much information as possible about the Trust, its people and its services. If the information you require is not accessible on our website or that of another organisation, please contact us. Please forward your request to the Freedom of Information & Document Control Officer.

Your request can only be processed if it is clearly stated what information you require and you provide a contact name and a postal or email address to enable us to reply to. Once these details have been received, we may invite you to view the information or we will send you a copy.

Charging for Publicaton

We will provide you with the information you have requested, within twenty working days and where this is not possible we will tell you why. Although most of the information can usually be provided free of charge, in some instances this may not be possible. Payment must be received before the information can be retrieved. Where information is to be provided at a cost, the charges will be calculated as set out in the Charges and Fees.
