LUCKY ESCAPE ON M6

Wednesday 13th July 2011 – 2.00pm – Suzie Fothergill

Two men have escaped with little injury after the van they were travelling in overturned on the M6 today.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to junction two of the northbound carriageway of the motorway shortly after 11.30am this morning. 

An ambulance and an ambulance officer were dispatched to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a van that was on its side and significantly damaged after it had overturned and shed its load.

“The driver and passenger, both men, had managed to get out of the vehicle.

“The passenger was uninjured and the driver, who was in his 30’s, had suffered minor injuries. The driver was treated at the scene before being conveyed to University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.”
