CAR v CAR

Tuesday 3rd November – 2.50pm – Claire Thomas

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after two cars collided in Birmingham.

The incident happened at the junction of Shaftmoor Lane and Reddings Lane in Hall Green shortly before 12.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday).

Two ambulances and a paramedic in a rapid response car were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find two cars which had been in collision with one another. One car had suffered significant damage.

“The driver of one car, a man in his 50s, suffered neck pain in the crash. Crews worked with the fire service to release him from the car whilst he received treatment. He was then immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board before being taken to Heartlands Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

“The driver of the second car, a woman in her 30s, had shoulder and hip pain and was out of the vehicle when crews arrived. She was treated at the scene by crews before being taken to the same hospital.”
