Air Ambulance

Accidents and illness often occur where access is difficult yet life saving emergency care is based upon speed of response.

Within West Midlands Ambulance Service region, 2 air ambulance charities operate to serve the community. Further details are provided below or click the links to find out more.

Midlands Air Ambulance - Registered Charity Number 1143118

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is responsible for funding and operating three Air Ambulances serving the Midlands and Welsh border region. Flying its first mercy mission in 1991, the organisation is regarded as one of the longest established and busiest Air Ambulance operators in the UK.

It is not always fully appreciated that Midlands Air Ambulance is funded solely by the public and local businesses. They receive no government money or National Lottery funding. The generosity of the public helps to raise the £6 million required each year to ensure its three helicopters remain operational, so please consider making a donation or join their lottery to help save lives across the region.

Midlands Air Ambulance is proud to serve communities in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance - Registered charity number 1098874

Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) was established in 2003 and exists to provide a HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) to the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and the Milton Keynes area.

The service does not simply transport patients to the nearest hospital; the service routinely carries senior Doctors and Consultants to the scene of incidents in just minutes, providing lifesaving treatment and medication at the scene and en-route to hospital. In essence, the hospital is taken to the patient, providing the best possible chance of a full recovery.

It is your local air ambulance, please support it.
