A pedestrian received advanced trauma care by West Midlands Ambulance Service following a serious RTC in Edgbaston, Birmingham this afternoon.
The service received multiple 999 calls reporting a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at the junction of City Road and Sandon Road, Edgbaston at 1.11pm today (Wednesday). Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma team responded to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a pedestrian, a man, in a critical condition. The team of ambulance staff worked rapidly, with support from emergency service colleagues, to administer advanced life support and trauma care to the man. He was then conveyed by ambulance on blue lights and sirens to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency trauma care.”
