A man has sadly died after being involved in a collision with a car whilst cycling yesterday in Stratford-upon-Avon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Alscot Park just off the A3400, Atherstone on Stour, at 2.10pm following reports of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and car. An ambulance, paramedic officer, local community first responder and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. A passing off duty paramedic stopped to render aid on scene until ambulance crews arrived.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find the off-duty paramedic giving CPR to the cyclist, a man. The team of medics quickly began to administer advanced life support at the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased a short time later.”
