A man has died and four patients have been taken to hospital after two fires in Bilston on Saturday 10th May.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to two separate addresses; the first, an address on Lunt Place at 2.20am. We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team. We were called to a second address on Marbury Drive at 2.37am and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, our Hazardous Area Response Team and the WMAS Critical Care Car to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at Marbury Drive, ambulance staff discovered one patient, a man. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
“On arrival at the address on Lunt Place crews found four patients. The first of whom, a woman, was treated for potentially serious injuries and the possible effects of smoke inhalation and conveyed to hospital.
“Three more patients; a man, a woman and a teenage girl were treated for the possible effects of smoke inhalation and conveyed to hospital.”
