One man has died and another was seriously injured following a road traffic collision on the M54 in the early hours of this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the eastbound carriageway, between junctions 3 and 2, about 4.30am, after police officers had discovered a car in woodland. One ambulance attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival there was one patient, a man. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
“Earlier, in the morning, we had been called to an address in Smethwick, to treat a man for serious injuries who had reportedly been involved in an RTC on the M54. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, for further assessment.”
