One man has died, and a second man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following a shooting in Wolverhampton this morning (Friday 19th).
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 3.11am to the junction of Leicester Street and Gloucester Street and sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers, our Hazardous Area Response Team, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a man in a critical condition who was receiving basic life support from the police. Crews immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite efforts, nothing could be done to save him, and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.
“A second man was also found in a life-threatening condition and crews immediately began administered advanced trauma care before conveying him to hospital under emergency driving conditions.”
