A pedestrian has sustained potentially life-threatening injuries following a collision in Birmingham this afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 2.18pm to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on New Coventry Road in Birmingham. One ambulance and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival, we found an elderly man who was the pedestrian who was assessed and had sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.”
“Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care to him at the scene and he was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance, with the air ambulance crew travelling on board for continued treatment en route.”
“No further patients required treatment.”
