Three people have been injured after a collision involving a double decker bus and van in Birmingham last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received multiple 999 calls reporting the collision on Coventry Road, Small Heath shortly after 6.00pm on Monday (5th January). Two ambulances and two paramedic officers responded to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Ambulance staff arrived to find a double decker bus, with around 30 passengers on board, which had collided with a van.
“The bus driver, a man, was assessed by paramedics and given trauma care for potentially serious injuries. He was then conveyed to Heartlands Hospital for further care.
“Two bus passengers, a man and a woman, also received assessment by ambulance staff. They were both taken to the same hospital for further precautionary checks.
“Thankfully, the remaining passengers and van occupants were uninjured.”
