Suzanne retired as a Chief Nurse at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2019, following a successful career of 38 years. She worked as a Registered Nurse, Registered Children’s Nurse and Health Visitor and gained her MBA at Keele University.
Suzanne currently works independently across NHS Trusts, providing patient safety and quality reviews and provides coaching and leadership support to Chief Nurses and Senior Nurses.
Suzanne has been instrumental in driving forward the Menopause workplace support across the NHS, having worked nationally on this agenda. She is passionate about ensuring the most vulnerable in our community have care provided for them in the most accessible way possible. As a Chief Nurse, she led a programme of work within Nottinghamshire supporting the homeless within the local soup kitchen.
Suzanne was awarded a CBE for services to Nursing in the NHS in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2020. Suzanne lives in Shropshire with her husband and has two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, running, walking, crafts and going to her local book clubs.
