A West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) student paramedic is aiming to take the pop charts by storm with the release of her first single.
Meg Fox, age 21 from Cannock, has always had a passion for music and her debut single ‘Puppet on a String’ will be released on Friday (July 12th).
Meg, who joined WMAS in October 2021, works out of Willenhall Hub. As well as having a desire to save lives and care for people, she is also keen musician who can play numerous instruments, as well as sing.
She has played numerous gigs across the West Midlands where she mainly performs songs she has written herself.
However, ‘Puppet on a String’, which was written on the back of an ambulance, is the first single Meg is releasing and she is hoping it will turn out to be a hit.
She said: “Music has always been one of my biggest passions and I have always loved playing multiple instruments, as well as singing.
“It was when I first joined WMAS in 2021 that my songwriting really started to come together. I found that writing songs and playing music was the perfect way for me to step back from work and just have some time to myself.
“I knew instantly I wanted Puppet on a String to be the first thing I release, I just cannot wait for everyone to hear it on Friday.”
Meg’s mum, Dawn, who also works for WMAS, said: “I’m incredibly proud of Meg, not only for how she is progressing as a student paramedic, but also because of how talented she is musically.
“I think her music is fantastic anyway, but I really believe Puppet on a String is a great song and I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I do once it is released.”
Puppet on a String has already hit the airwaves, being played on Black Country Xtra Radio on Friday (July 5th) and it will continue to be played on Friday nights at approximately 10pm on a weekly basis, until August.
Meg’s colleagues at Willenhall will get a sneak preview of Puppet on a String when she performs an acoustic set at the hub’s Health and Wellbeing Day on tomorrow (Wednesday 10th July).
