A West Midlands Ambulance Service colleague has completed a charity skydive in memory of her twin boys, who would have celebrated their 16th birthday this year.
Amanda Gomez-Torrens, a Patient Transport Services (PTS) Supervisor in Coventry, took on the challenge to raise money for Sands, a charity that supports bereaved families. Raising a whopping £804 so far, with still time to donate.
Speaking before the jump, Amanda said: “Our boys are never far from our hearts, and this challenge is a deeply personal way of honouring their lives and the love we continue to carry for them every day.
“The charity has supported us in ways we will always be grateful for, and through this effort, we hope to raise awareness and support other families walking a similar path.”
After completing the skydive, Amanda said:
“It was the most exhilarating experience of my life.
“Every single second was absolutely worth it. What made it even more special was knowing I was doing it to support bereaved families.
“I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their generosity and support – I couldn’t have done it without you.”
Amanda’s fundraising efforts have helped raise awareness of the support available through Sands while honouring the memory of her sons.
