A motorcyclist received trauma care by a team of ambulance clinicians in Burton-upon-Trent before being taken to hospital yesterday afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a single motorcycle RTC near to Barton Marina where the A38 meets Lichfield Road in Barton-Under-Needwood at 3.08pm on Monday 5th May. An ambulance, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Tatenhill with two critical care paramedics on board together with the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a doctor and paramedic on board responded to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived they found the motorcyclist, a man, receiving care by an off-duty GP and police officers. Upon assessment the man was found to have sustained serious injuries after reportedly coming off his motorcycle.
“The team worked to administer trauma care to the man to stabilise his condition before he was conveyed by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further specialist trauma care.”
