We’ve been providing non-emergency patient transport services (PTS) covering parts of Cheshire, Warrington and the Wirral since July 2016. This includes patients registered with GPs in Cheshire, Warrington or the Wirral who are eligible for transport to hospitals and treatment centres locally, including Manchester and Merseyside, and the rest of the country. This may involve regular journeys for dialysis for example, and treatment at specialist centres elsewhere in the UK.
If you are travelling into Cheshire, Warrington or The Wirral from outside the area, you will need to contact your home provider.
Which hospitals are covered?
If a patient is registered with a GP in Cheshire, Warrington and the Wirral, and is eligible for PTS, we will provide transport to all NHS hospitals in the area covered, as well as specialist centres elsewhere. However, we do not take patients to private appointments, nor to routine GP appointments.
Book a Journey – I am a Patient
If you’re a patient and wish to book a patient transport service journey with us, please call the booking request line on 0345 425 0050. Select ‘option 1’ to make a new booking or ‘option 2’ for general enquiries and to amend an existing booking. This office is open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
When you call and speak to our PTS control room staff, you will be asked a number of questions to determine your eligibility and to ensure we send the appropriate staff and vehicle for your journey. Please ensure you have your appointment details to hand, as well as your GP practice and NHS number ready. All calls are recorded.
